PDR Internships – Design + Architecture

PDR is seeking summer interns at its headquarters in Houston, TX. The internship program at PDR offers students the opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic design environment. Interns will work closely with our designers and researchers on real-world corporate interior projects, gaining valuable insights into the design process and industry best practices.

PDR offers paid summer 10-week internships from June 3, 2024, to August 9, 2024. The PDR Design Director will determine the interns' weekly work schedules based on availability. To be eligible for the internship, students must be available to work in person at PDR's HQ office for at least 20 hours per week during core business hours, from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm.

PDR interns have the following key responsibilities:

• Assisting in the development of design concepts and presentations for client projects.
• Participating in design charrettes and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas.
• Assisting in creating renderings and digital presentations to communicate design proposals.
• Assisting in the production of technical drawings and documentation, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details.
• Conducting research on materials, products, and design trends to support project development.
• Collaborating with team members to coordinate project schedules and deliverables.
• Attending client meetings and site visits to gain exposure to the design process and client interactions.

Candidates must meet one of the requirements listed below to be considered for a PDR Summer Internship:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Architecture or Interior Design Program.
• Must have completed their third year of an undergraduate program.
• Must have completed their first year of a graduate program.
• Completed undergraduate program and are entering an accredited graduate program.
• Upon completing the program, interns may be considered for full-time employment opportunities with PDR.
