While the pandemic initiated a vast amount of change in nearly every aspect, several workplaces have shifted to work from home. Houston is currently experiencing an influx of sublease spaces with 3.5 million square feet of vacancy city-wide. As companies create strategies to return to the workplace, there are sublease options to consider with many advantages.
A surplus of sublease options offers companies the opportunity to experiment with new office arrangements and ideas at a bargain price. Doug Hellmann, Principal + Director of Project Delivery at PDR, suggests that practicing flexible seating instead of assigned seating is efficient as more employees work from home. This idea also aids in reduced costs and implementing safety standards. Doug stated that “the pandemic has been a catalyst for changing and the adoption of working in different ways.”.
